Imagine you need a haircut and ask a random person to cut it. This person has no idea how to use the scissors or how to protect your face so that you don’t get hurt. It’s not going to end up pretty, is it?!
What do you need to become a hairdresser?
To become a hairdresser you need a few things:
- Interest and commitment
- Training
- Skills and techniques
You have the interest. That’s how you’ve ended up on this page! Now you want the skills and technique and this is where CPBA come in. We provide a VTCT accredited Level 2 in Women’s Hairdressing to get you off to the best start in your hairdressing career.
What is a Level 2 hairdresser?
Think of the basics. The foundations of what it means to be a hairdresser. When you go into a nice, clean salon, you are welcomed, seated, made a cup of tea, your hair is washed and cut, blow-dried and then you leave the salon feeling fabulous.
There are a lot of things going on here and this is what a Level 2 in Women’s Hairdressing provides you with training in:
- How to take care of the salon and equipment
- How to treat customers
- How to wash hair
- How to cut hair
- How to colour hair
After completing CPBA’s Level 2 in Women’s Hairdressing, you will be fully equipped to become a junior hairdresser.
CPBA offers free employment advice and guidance to their women’s hairdressing learners. We also offer free women’s hairdressing courses and work placements.
