Tutor - Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy
What makes me, me?
A great industry to work in. I re-trained as an adult and it was the correct fit for me. Lots of experience working in salons and spas and also working for myself. I have worked in education for around 17 years.
Tell me about your role at CPBA. What does a typical day look like for you?
I teach predominantly L3 VTCT massage. The theory side of the course on a Thursday night and the practical massages on a Saturday. The students get to a competent level and we invite external clients. There are also exams to be taken. It is a lot of work, but also fun and a great qualification to have. It will open doors for you within the beauty industry.
What's the standout highlight of your experience working at CPBA?
Seeing students achieve the qualification and change their lives. Some move onto working for themselves, setting up their own businesses or attending further courses. A couple of my students are currently studying for an osteopathy degree.
What skills do you bring to the table in your job?
23 years of working in salons, for myself and in education. A passion for the beauty therapy/holistic industry and the opportunities available.
When you're not working, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy most?
I enjoy going to the gym, going out with friends and family, travelling and eating!! I also enjoy learning new things about the beauty industry by studying for new courses and going to exhibitions etc.
