Before you start with your nail course, you should know that there are several different options for you to consider.
Some beauty school & online classes offer one-day fast-paced courses, while others can go in detail and can last up to 4 months!
Here are the three qualifications that you can get:
Level one – it is a beginner qualification where you will learn the basics. You will learn how to use forms, create gel nails, and remove nail extensions. Usually, this course takes one day to complete and it is made for beginners. However, some schools offer one-day training sessions for more difficult tasks, such as fiberglass nails or acrylics – these are for pros only.
NVQ Level 2 – this is an intermediate level that allows you to work on your own pace with clients. You will learn a lot more about artificial nails, manicures, and pedicures as well as health and infections of natural nails. You can finish this course in 16 weeks by attending 1 full day and 1 half-day at a salon.
NVQ Level 3 – this course is designed for advanced nail techs who already work on their own and without supervision. If you’ve previously mastered Level 2, you can upgrade your skills and knowledge level by attending the Level 3 course. With this diploma, you will learn a lot about electric filing, nail extensions, art design, as well as nail tips. You can graduate in 17 weeks.
